The Chronicles of Pyra

Chapter 3

Prince Moon of Skylark was pacing around his room thinking about how hard his life was. He had an arranged marriage to Princess Aris of Marina and the daughter of the meanest merfairy ever, Queen Aquan. His father feuded with Queen Aquan along time ago and decided to settle their feud by uniting their kingdoms so it was said that Aris and Moon were to get married. It was even written down as the law so Moon had no choice.

" Moon! Fathers’ home." Star, Moon's sister exclaimed bursting into his room

" Oh great now I can tell him that I am not marrying Aris." Moon said angrily

" Moon I know Aris can be a little self-centered and rude but she is our only hope to saving our kingdom. " Star said helpfully

" I know it's just that I'm not ready for this Star, and I just wish dad would see that." Moon said sadly

Moon really wished he wasn't royal and got to marry whom he wanted when the time was right. But he had to do this for both kingdoms, he had no choice.

" Moon! My son, to think you'll be a king tomorrow and a husband another day." Moon's father King Jupin said loudly

" Oh joy." Moon retorted

" Our realm would rise and become a king planet." King Jupin bellowed happily

" Dad Flames will always be the king Planet even though it's covered in stone." Moon said

" That's right my dear son we will make you and Aris king and queen of Flames, how does that sound?" King Jupin asked

" Dad! I don't think you understand." Moon said angrily

" Yes I do, I mean it's possible we could just......." King Jupin started

" Dad! I don't want to marry Aris I'm not ready to take on that responsibility yet." Moon said firmly

" I got married at your age and everything turned out perfectly well and it was for the better of my father’s kingdom so you will do the same to benefit me and my kingdom!" King Jupin bellowed storming out of the room

" I'm getting out of here I can't stand this place." Moon said storming down the staircase

Meanwhile........

" Lily, welcome to Downtown Syrel isn't it marvelous?" Elle asked excitedly

" It's beautiful way better then Earth." Lily exclaimed

" Now come on girls let's get shopping." Elle said leading us into a store called StarBound

The girls were in that store for what seemed like hours when Lily's necklace started to glow.

" Hey how do you think this looks on me do you think it's too orange?" Elle asked twirling in front of the mirror

" What do you need a dress for?" Song asked

" Remember for the day of the royals it's along time from now but I still want to shop for the best outfit." Elle replied

" Hey! That guy outside, why do I feel like I know him from somewhere?" Lily asked forgetting about the necklace

" He probably goes to Cloud Caste the school for warriors. I think we're having a party there tomorrow to get to know everyone." Elle explained

" Interesting." Lily said

" I could introduce you to him." Elle said

" No, No that's okay." Lily said quickly

" Well I'm gonna head back to the school I've done too much shopping for the day." Song said yawning

" I'll come with you I'm kinda tired too." Lily said picking up her shopping bags and following Song

" Oh no we missed the bus and another one is not gonna be here til' 66:66." Song moaned

The guy that was walking past StarBound was standing by his car looking lonely and sad.

Meanwhile.......

" I wish I could just start over with my life and be a regular person." Moon thought to himself

Just then a guy was speeding down the sidewalk on his cloud-bike and knocked Lily down. Moon ran to see if she was alright. Lily sat there in pain not knowing if she should or could move.

" Hey, are you alright?" Moon asked

" Yeah I just don't think I can move." Lily moaned

" We were waiting for the next bus to come but that's not for another hour." Song explained

" I'll give yall a ride where ya goin?" Moon asked

" We're going to Eria." Song said

" Okay, Miss just be very still I can carry you to the car if that's okay?" Moon asked politely

" No I think I can walk but thanks for the offer." Lily replied getting up and wobbling forward

Lily tried walking but fell over and passed out from all the pain.

Moon was driving along the road to Eria when he passed Cloud Caste he had wanted to go there since he was 12. But his father said it was beneath royals to go to such schools. Moon knew he would never return home and not even for the day of the royals so he might as well start over.

" Hey so what's your name?" Song asked

Moon thought about saying Moon but he really didn't want to be known as that so he decided to call himself Michael after a dear friend of his.

" Michael." Moon replied

" I'm Song from Radione and that's Lily she's from Earth. Where are you from?" Song asked

" Did you say she was from Earth?" Moon said ignoring the other question

" Yeah she appeared out of the sky through this portal with these two people who were apparently humans. And she really doesn't remember who she is. I think it's better that way not to know who you are because you don't have to worry about responsibilities." Song said

" She is a fairy right?" Moon asked confused

" I think." Song replied

Moon started to think about how it must be like for Lily. How she didn't have to worry about arranged marriages or controlling parents.

" Ah!" Lily screamed in the back seat

The car stopped. Lily started glowing and Lily's eyes opened.

" Lily, are you okay what's wrong?" Song asked concerned

" Nothing I'm fine, I just glow when I have bad visions or memories." Lily said

" Hey Song told me you're from Earth can you remember what realm you were from?" Moon asked

" Yes I was from Flames. I remember now I was in the corner and it was dark. When the knones and Ica came in I ran away. But I fell and one of the Knones were about to crush me but the Spirit Dragon, Sparkas rescued me he led me to Earth where a guy saved me from a burning building," Lily said looking forward

" Do you know what happened to Pyra, the princess?" Song asked

" My necklace is telling me that she's still alive but it won't tell me where she is." Lily said moaning in pain

" All this time." Moon whispered to himself

" What did you say?" Song asked

" Uh nothing, let's get to Eria before it gets late." Moon said turning back around and pushed the go button on the keypad

Knowing that Princess Pyra was alive made him hope and believe. He remembered when he first seen Pyra as a baby. He knew in his little mind that they would be married not just because their parents were going to arrange it but also because they were meant to be. He dreamt about her everyday and still worried because no one knew where she was. But what Moon didn't know was Princess Pyra was sitting in the backseat of his 06' Hydro.

Moon made sure Lily was okay and left heading back down the road, nowhere to go. Moon passed the blue tower and seen the warriors outside practicing fighting doing what Moon always wanted to do. He stopped the Hydro and stepped onto the green turf.

" Halt who goes there." a short guy with long grey hair asked

" My name is Michael and I was wondering if I could join here?" Moon asked confidently

" My name is Chalai welcome to Cloud Caste." the guy said bowing

" Please to meet you sir." Moon said bowing his head

" Irin please show our guest to his room he'll be sharing it with you." Chalai said firmly

Moon followed Irin he was tall and tough looking. His hair was dark red and he had a lightning bolt going down his face.

" Here's our room." Irin said nicely

Moon walked in and looked around. It wasn't exactly elegant like his own room but it was better in a normal sort of way.

Irin slammed the door shut and walked up to Moon.

" Don't stand in my way, by my way, or near my way and we'll be cool." Irin said toughly and walked out the door

Moon put on the blue stretchy outfit Irin handed him and headed back outside.

" Michael, we've decided we would put you to the test. You and Irin will challenge your skills in virtual mode. If you succeed, you will officially become a member of this academy." Chalai said

" But what if I don't succeed?" Moon asked

" Lesson #1, never question your position in a fight for victory it would only make you weaker." Chalai replied" Now follow me."

Chalai led Moon to a room filled with gadgets.

" Pick one weapon only but choose wisely." Chalai warned

Moon looked at all the hi-tech gear but his eyes fell upon a simple sword which looked like cyber glass on the outside but on the inside it looked like a victory.

" I'll take this sword." Moon said firmly

" Are you sure? What can you do with a sword, it's only cyber glass?" Chalai asked

" A man is better then his weapon you only need skill and brain to gain a victory." Moon replied confidently

" Very good my son, carry on." Chalai said impressed

Moon and Irin were in a dark room with only light shining on them.

" Good luck." Moon said politely

" Whatever." Irin murmured angrily

" Hemisphoria Dimentionus." Chalai said as the room became a virtual Fearing Forest

Two Selphaen monsters ran toward them trying to slice them in half with their blade like arms. Moon rolled under the huge monster and sliced him from behind. Then without stopping he ran until he came face to face with a Ceraton. Moon could remember battling a Ceraton but he couldn't seem to figure out when.

Suddenly Moon heard a distant scream so forgetting the Ceraton he ran toward it. There standing in the middle of the path was a child weak and powerless.

" Save me Moon, save me!" the girl pleaded

" How did you know my name?" Moon asked

Then the girl disappeared and Moon suddenly realized who the child was it was Princess Pyra. Except Moon knew Pyra would be his age by now so the child must have symbolized weakness and fear and the path must have meant she was near but Moon couldn't figure out where. Just then the Ceraton came running at him. Moon turned around quickly and stabbed it in the heart hopping it would die quickly. Then he heard another distant scream but this time it sounded like Irin screaming for help.

" Irin I'm coming!" Moon screamed loudly

When he reached Irin he was still battling the Selphaen monster but it doubled in size.

" Irin, catch this slice it in the back!" Moon screamed holding the sword high enough for Irin to see it

" Michael, I don't need your help I'm strong enough." Irin snapped shooting the monster again

" Look! We need to fight together this is real Irin, we feel pain. It's not because we're not strong enough it's because we weren't wise enough." Moon said charging for the beast

Irin fell to the ground not being able to move or speak. Moon, stabs the monster in it’s back and pulled his sword out. He picked up Irin and ran through the crowd of monsters slicing everyone in his path. Until he came to the end of the course and the room turned back to normal.

" Lye, him, down." Chalai commanded" Sirinus Healus"

" Will he be alright?" Moon asked seriously

" Yes he just needs to sleep." Chalai replied with a half smile

Meanwhile..........

" I think she's about to wake up." Florale said to the others

" Huh....where am I?" Lily asked confused

" You’re back at Eria, Lily." Erigone replied

" Lily, what was wrong with you in the car? Cuz you were freaking out, and you started glowing and everything." Song asked

" I just get these visions that scare me half to death, but the memories are worse because they really happened. I glow when I remember it makes me stronger." Lily replied

" Let me read your mind." Erigone said

" No, don't I . . . it's too painful I don't want anyone to know my story yet." Lily said quickly

" Erifus Sleepus." Florale said moving her hand across Lily's head making Lily go to sleep

" Thank you Florale but that really wasn't necessary." Erigone said

" Can we actually see what's in her memory?" Elle asked

" Yes but I have a feeling she won't let us see it." Erigone replied

Then Lily broke out of the spell and began to sit up.

" Lily, how did you break from that spell?" Song asked gasping

" I don't know but I really rather tell you what happens in my memories then show you. Earlier in the car I lied about being in a dark corner in the palace when the knones attacked Flames and I lied about not remembering anything from before I was sent to earth. Ever since I was a little girl I'd have these visions that were confusing. Like I remember when I was a baby I was in this room with people they were happy and joyous. A man put a medallion around my neck he said I was his daughter and that my name was Pyra." Lily said slowly

" Ohmigosh! You’re the missing Princess from Flames. You’re Princess Pyra." Elle exclaimed

" I thought I would be able to keep it a secret for some time now because I really wanted to find out more about my origin and where I came from." Lily said sadly

" After all these years you were on Earth. Everyone thought you were dead because everyone was buried under the stone that Ica put on it." Erigone said shocked

" What about my parents? Who are my parents? Where can I find them?" Lily asked eagerly

" I don't know how to tell you this but your parents are...are..dead." Florale said sadly

" No they can't be what happened that night they were there I seen them." Lily said crying

" Ica and the Knones killed them trying to get to you." Elle said sorrily

" What do I have that they want? What makes me so different from any other royal?" Lily asked confused

" You are the last generation of Flames and you hold the Phoenix." Erigone replied holding Lily's hands

" I remember now, Ica said that she wanted the Phoenix me to arise the Army of Despair and then she said that her generation would destroy me and get the Phoenix. But I swear that as long as I am the last generation of Flames I will destroy Ica's generation." Lily said angrily pulling away

Lily started to glow even brighter and then she started to lift into the air. The spirit dragon wrapped around her and then she was gone.

" Where am I?" Lily asked aloud

" My child you are at Flames your kingdom safe us! Save us!" the spirit dragon said disappearing

Then Queen Aquan appeared looking at her in disbelief.

" Princess Pyra huh well I have underestimated you, have I? Well sorry but I just want to say you will not have Moon my daughter Aris will. She deserves him more then you do I will have power!" Queen Aquan said laughing

" In the name of my dead parents King Dragonus and Queen Athille I command you to leave me alone." Pyra said firmly

" Look around! You worthless piece of nothing this isn't Flames anymore. It's what merfairies call a wasteland that will never be again. And you think you can take me on because you hold the Phoenix well I will crush you and your powers the next time, wait a minute I put the memory eraser spell on you the last time and you still remember me? This I know is the work of Sparkas he gave you the power of memory when you were a baby. But that can all be fixed with a couple of Ceratonian crystals.

' Power of Marina, Ceratonia, and Wind

Reach down and undo what Sparkas did to his kin' " Queen Aquan said with an evil smile

Suddenly Lily was in her bed at Eria sleeping soundly for she had no more visions or memories because Queen Aquan took them from her.
